I almost feel like I need to invent a new word to describe this recipe. Something with greater gravity than just calling it easy.
Because, quite honestly, it’s beyond easy.
Beyeasy??
Ahem.
Seriously, though, you simply stir a few pantry staples together.
That’s it.
Yep, that’s right…mere minutes are all that stand between you and your chocolaty magic shell of goodness!

Homemade Chocolate Magic Shell
(Yields just over a cup)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup virgin coconut oil, melted
- 1/4 cup pure unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1 to 2 T raw honey (optional)
Stir all of the ingredients together in a medium bowl until smooth.
Then, simply drizzle on top of your favorite cold treat and watch it work its magic! 🙂
We first tried it drizzled on Banilla Walnut Frozen Yogurt, and it worked beautifully! Next, I really want to use it to coat frozen fruit…bananas, strawberries, grapes, blueberries…YUM!!!
As for the optional sweetener, it really depends on the size of your sweet tooth and how you plan on using the shell. We didn’t use any when topping our frozen yogurt, as it was plenty sweet on its own. However, if you are one that likes to peel off the magic shell and eat it by itself (you know who you are!), then you will probably want to add a touch of honey.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. When you are ready to use it again, simply reheat and stir.
How do you plan on using your magic shell??
