You may recall how I instantly fell in love with using whey as a marinade. Who would blame me, considering the result is out-of-this-world tender meat!
If you missed my Whey Moroccan Chicken Marinade, here’s another great way to use up your yogurt whey and spice up your next dish at the same time!
Ingredients:
- 1 to 2 cups yogurt whey
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. cumin
- Pinch of sea salt
Combine all of the ingredients in a large, zip-top bag or large, shallow dish. Add your favorite meat to the marinade and refrigerate overnight, or for several hours.
Prepare yourself not only for a burst of spicy flavor, but for unbelievably tender meat!

hooray! I’m making this today! I strained some yogurt last night so I have the whey and I can’t wait to try it. How spicy is this?
Yay!!! I can’t wait for you to try it; you will be blown away by how tender it makes the chicken! 🙂 It’s spicy, but not TOO spicy. Lol. I love spicy stuff, so sometimes it’s hard for me to gauge. If it were on a spicy scale of one to five…I would probably rate it a 3.5. 🙂
