I’m back with another knock-your-socks-off, crazily-easy Vitamix ice cream recipe to share!!
This one is extra special to me — not just because it’s incredibly delicious (which it most definitely is!), but because it’s also filled with many, many happy childhood memories for me.
Anyone else remember these little babies??
Of course you do! How could we ever forget, right??
You may recall my love for all things orange-vanilla that stems from the above frozen, creamy delights on a stick.
So much YUM!
It seemed only right that I pair this love from my childhood with a current love in my adulthood: Vitamix ice cream.
Could there BE a better combination?!
No, Chandler Bing, there truly couldn’t be.
Creamsicle Vitamix Ice Cream
Serves 3
Ingredients:
- Cream (heavy/whipping) - 1 cup
- Vanilla extract (pure) - 2-3 T (You really can't use too much!)
- Sugar (pure) - 2 T
- Oranges - 4, peeled and frozen
- Salt (pure) - pinch
Instructions:
Option 1: Make-Ahead Mix (This will result in firmer ice cream.)
Mix the cream, vanilla, and sugar in the Vitamix until well-blended.
Place the mixture evenly in a shallow tupperware container, and then freeze it for several hours.
When ready to serve, blend the frozen mixture along with the oranges and a pinch of salt. It will be very thick. Blend on the variable setting and slowly work your way up in speed while using the tamper to push the frozen oranges down until you reach your desired consistency.
Option #2: Thirty Seconds to Get in My Belly (This will not be quite as firm as the make-ahead mix, but will still be much firmer than soft-serve.)
Pile all of the ingredients into the Vitamix.
Blend on the variable setting and slowly work your way up in speed while using the tamper to push the frozen oranges down until you reach your desired consistency.
Relive delicious childhood memories while devouring the Creamsicle goodness. ;)
